Operation "McDonald's Not-So-Happy Meal"...

Friday, 08 July 2016
A corporation decided to advertise their new burger through the guise of children’s nursery rhymes... We fought back after McDonald's crude use of 'Mary had a Little Lamb' was used in a promotional campaign for their new lamb burger. We launched a gorilla attack on the billboards and this is what happened...

TRP IN ACTION: WHALES ARE DYING – A highly charged, political animal rights music video

Saturday, 02 April 2016
Peter Garrett is the Minister of Environmental Protection, Heritage and the Arts as well as the lead singer for renown activist band Midnight Oil. Despite his title and position in parliament and what he stands for as an artist in the spotlight we were extremely shocked and disappointed to learn that Garrett chose to turn a blind eye regarding the Japanese illegally whaling in Australian waters.  Organisations such as Sea Shepherd have been leading protests behind the scenes but unfortunately they have been kept away from the media and public eye... this has gone on for far too long. Now is the time to make a difference and put a stop to these illegal and unjust activities.

We have joined forces with Sea Shepherd's founder Captain Paul Watson to raise awareness and protest these activities in a way that we hope will reach the masses. The lyrics were rewritten by Watson & Trash McSweeney and the backing vocals were provided by the ship’s crew the night before their vessel, the 'Steve Irwin', left Australia for their latest campaign in Antarctic waters.

"Peter Garrett is the current Australian Environmental Minister and he is allowing the Japanese to kill whales in our own backyard: the Australian Whale Sanctuary which is a designated hunting free zone. We thought the irony was perfect... using material from Garrett's own band Midnight Oil. So we created a parody cover of 'Beds are Burning' called 'Whales are Dying' and it was straight to the point... STOP JAPAN FROM KILLING WHALES" - Trash McSweeney (songwriter for The Red Paintings)

Here is our remake of Midnight Oil's hit 'Beds Are Burning' with a Red Paintings twist... we give you 'Whales Are Dying'. Please share and help us to put a stop to this...

Visit Sea Shepherd's website for more information on what you can do to help this cause:

"Peter Garrett lacks power and the passion..."

This commentary provided by Liam Bartlett sheds more light on "the man who gave up his public morals to satisfy his personal ambitions." Read the full article here..

With their dedicated fan base in tow The Red Paintings disguised themselves as Genetically Engineered Animals and paraded through the streets of major cities across Australia.  The marches, lead by Noah, were to educate the public about the state of the planet and what our actions as humans are doing the wildlife and environment.  We shouldn't neglect Mother Nature and her animals otherwise it WILL come back to haunt us.

The Red Paintings and their fans marched unannounced through the streets of Australia to promote the release of ‘Destroy the Robots: Uprising’ and upcoming tour.

The message behind the tour is one of empowerment. "We want young people to feel encouraged and confident enough to stand up for their beliefs and who they are as an individual.  We live in a world where millions of people feel disenfranchised by situations that are outside of their control and as a result they feel obliged to conform in ways that aren't comfortable for them.  We want them to discover that you don't have to adhere to certain standards that the world sets and there is a like minded community for you to be a part of.  Stand out amongst a sea of robots!"

Hundreds of fans participated in the marches that took place in several cities across the country. Some fans even came equipped with their own robot themed toys and props to celebrate the release and join in with the empowering message behind the marches.

Particularly successful marches took place at/through Brisbane City Mall, Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay hitting the news including in depth coverage from National Street Press and radio station Triple J.

We are honored to share the stage with...

Wednesday, 13 May 2015
Over the years we have been honoured to share the stage with likeminded acts who have strong political messages or who make it their mission to empower those who listen to their music and come to their shows.  Some of these acts include Amanda Palmer and The Dresden Dolls, Mindless Self Indulgence, Atari Teenage Riot, Die Krupps, Saul Williams and Louise Distras to name a few.  We have been fortunate enough to gain some amazing fans from playing with these great artists... Thanks to all who saw us play and have joined the Red Children!
